Adelphi and Le Moyne Selected to NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Championship

Both teams set to compete in first-round action on Saturday

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Adelphi University and Le Moyne College have both been selected to the NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship, it was announced Sunday night in an online selection show.

Adelphi (13-2), ranked No. 4 in the nation, and Le Moyne (15-2), ranked No. 3 in the country, will both compete in NCAA first-round contests on Saturday, May 11. Northeast-10 Conference regular-season co-champion Adelphi will host fourth-seeded LIU Post at Motamed Field in Garden City, N.Y. at 4:00 p.m, while Northeast-10 Champion Le Moyne will travel to second-seeded LIU Post at 3:00 p.m.

Adelphi is coming off of a setback in the conference title game on Sunday, falling to Le Moyne, 7-5. The Panthers' only other loss this season was to conference counterpart Saint Michael's College.

Le Moyne's matchup with the Pioneers will be the 12th all-time between the two programs, including the third in NCAA Tournament play. The Dolphins are 7-4 in the previous 11 meetings, including wins in each of the last three.

The NCAA Championship is an eight-team tournament, with four teams from each of the two regions (North and South) earning selection. This year's championship game will be played at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa. at 1:00 p.m.
