USILA also announces All-American and Scholar All-American lists

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Merrimack College senior Corey Lunney has been named the Division II Outstanding Player of the Year by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA), it was announced on Wednesday.

Lunney (pictured), who was also named the 2013 Northeast-10 Player of the Year, totaled 45 goals and 14 assists this season for the Warriors. He also received the distinction of Outstanding Attackman of the Year.

Merrimack goalkeeper Connor Reagan was named the USILA Outstanding Goalie of the Year, as the senior previously received Northeast-10 Goalkeeper of the Year honors this spring. Reagan went 11-3 this year with a 6.70 goals-against average and .606 save percentage.

Adelphi University senior Kevin Kennedy earned the USILA Long Pole Midfielder Award, as he totaled 10 goals, five assists and 41 ground balls this season.

The three were also among 12 Northeast-10 Conference student-athletes named USILA Division II All-Americans.

Lunney and Reagan were both chosen First Team All-Americans, as was sophomore teammate Brandon Waiter. Kennedy was also a First Team pick along with fellow Adelphi senior Joe Celano.

Adelphi senior Jeff Melsopp and junior Gregory Puskuldjian were selected as Second Team All-Americans along with Le Moyne College junior Andrew Chadderon and sophomore Gregory O'Brien.

Three more Northeast-10 student-athletes received Honorable Mention recognition in Le Moyne seniors Alex Cameron-Carter and Tyler Prevost and Merrimack senior Greg Melaugh.

Cameron-Carter and Merrimack senior DJ Brown also earned the prestigious USILA Scholar All-American honors.

The USILA Scholar All-America Program was established in 1989 to recognize student-athletes from USILA member institutions who have distinguished themselves academically, athletically and as citizens of their communities. The USILA Selection Committee selects an overall team representing Division I, II and III. The Scholar All-Americas are recognized at the annual Lacrosse All-America Banquet.
