GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - In the wake of the Coronavirus, the NCAA Board of Governors on Wednesday, March 11, regulations for spectators for the upcoming NCAA Division II East Region tournament hosted by Adelphi University are as follows.
Tickets are limited to SIX (6) per student-athlete as provided by a gate list to Adelphi staff ahead of the tournament. Unfortunately if your name does not appear on the gate list, you will not be permitted entry to the venue. Adelphi will also not be allowing the general public to walk up and purchase tickets into any game.
The gymnasium will be cleared out in between each contest, to allow ONLY spectators for each specific team entry into the venue itself. It is recommend that the people on the guest list should arrive no more than 15 minutes before the game that they are attending; if they arrive any earlier, they will not be allowed into the venue until that 15-minute buffer before tip-off.
Along with this, the NCAA is going to update everyone on Thursday regarding concessions for the spectators, but be prepared for it to be just sealed food and sealed drinks.
All seven games of the 2020 East Region Tournament will be streamed in HD, free of charge, with color commentary and play-by-play broadcasters HERE.
Questions or comments can be directed to adelphiathletics@adelphi.edu or 516-877-4240. Updates throughout the tournament will also be posted on the department social media accounts, @AUPanthers on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
