FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AIC and Adelphi Sweep Major Awards.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – For the third-consecutive time, American International's Andrea Serra Rosa has captured the Northeast-10 Conference Volleyball Player of the Year honor, as the league office announced its All-Conference honorees on Friday morning.

Serra Rosa joins Bryant's Michelle Muniz in exclusive company as the only two volleyball student-athletes to ever win NE10 Player of the Year on three occasions. Muniz, a member of the NE10's Hall of Fame Class of 2021, won the award in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

Joining Serra Rosa as major award winners for the second-straight season are Adelphi's Jamie Yonker as Libero of the Year and AIC's Naomi Eckert Rivera as Setter of the Year. It is the first time since the 2010 season that the NE10 has seen repeat winners at Player, Libero and Setter of the Year.

Additionally, Adelphi's Macarty McQueen was named Rookie of the Year and AIC's Matt Cribbin earned the Sandy Hoffman Coach of the Year award – as Adelphi and AIC combined to sweep the NE10 major awards. The two programs also tied for a league-high four players selected to All-Conference teams. AIC and Bentley, the NE10 co-regular season champions, tied for a league-best three players each on the First Team.

Serra Rosa helped lead the Yellow Jackets to their second-straight NE10 regular season championship on her way to Player of the Year honors. She ranks fourth in kills per set (3.32) and points per set (4.0) among all NE10 players, while recording six double-doubles throughout the season. She was named the AVCA Division II National Player of the Week on Nov. 1. Her 1,722 career kills rank fifth in NE10 history.

Yonker becomes the first Adelphi player to ever win back-to-back NE10 Libero of the Year honors, as she led all players in digs (452) and ranked second in digs per set (5.08). She had eight matches with at least 20 digs this season, while leading the Panthers to a 10-2 mark in conference play and the No. 3 seed in the NE10 Volleyball Championship.

Eckert Rivera is the first player since New Haven's Kaulana Ane (2012-13) to win NE10 Setter of the Year in consecutive seasons. She led all NE10 setters with 992 assists and 10.67 assists per set, proving as a critical piece in AIC's league-best offensive attack (18.2 points per set). Eckert Rivera was a four-time NE10 Setter of the Week this season.

McQueen had a big rookie season for the Panthers, as she ranked 22nd in kills per set (2.43), 28th in digs per set (2.46) and 20th in points per set (2.9). She is the first Adelphi player to ever win Rookie of the Year. McQueen tallied seven double-doubles in her freshman campaign, which included five nods as NE10 Rookie of the Week. She is a Second Team All-Conference selection.

For the second time in the past four seasons, Cribbin was named the winner of the Sandy Hoffman Coach of the Year award. AIC won its second-consecutive regular season title and earned the No. 1 seed in the 2022 NE10 Volleyball Championship under Cribbin. The Yellow Jackets won 18-straight matches at one point during the season, which included an unbeaten 11-0 record in September. The award is named after Sandy Hoffman, an NE10 Hall of Famer, who recorded 758 career victories – fourth-most all-time in Division II history.
