Stonehill Earns Second Straight Northeast-10 Men’s Cross Country Championship

INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

JAMESVILLE, N.Y. – Stonehill College won the 2012 Northeast-10 Conference Men's Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning at Jamesville Beach Park, finishing with a total of 60 points. Stonehill placed five in the top-16 in the field of 162 runners to earn its second conference title in as many years.

The Skyhawks narrowly defeated American International College, which finished in second place with 61 points. The University of Massachusetts Lowell finished third with 63 points.

American Int'l freshman Michael Biwott (pictured, below) finished first among the men, completing the 8K with a time of 24:41.3. Biwott was also named the 2012 Northeast-10 Men's Cross Country Athlete and Rookie of the Year.

UMass Lowell senior Jeff Veiga finished second overall with a time of 24:48.9, while senior Glarius Rop of American Int'l finished third with a time of 25:17.5.

Stonehill head coach Karen Boen was named the 2012 Northeast-10 Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year.
