South Easton, Mass. – 29 student-athletes representing seven different Northeast-10 institutions will compete at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships when they are held later this month in Pueblo, Colorado at the Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl.
The national championship meet will take place May 24th-26th and Colorado State at Pueblo will serve as the host institution.

American International College's Maurice Calenda is the Northeast-10 Conference's lone top seed in any of the events, as he qualified for the triple jump with a Division II-best leap of 15.74 meters. Calenda will also be competing in the long jump as well.
Calenda is one of six student-athletes that will be competing in multiple events representing the Northeast-10. Teammates Dominic Smith and Dennis Stephenson will be running in both the 400-meter dash and as members of the Yellow Jackets' 4x400 meter dash relay team.
The University of Massachusetts Lowell's Angus MacDonald is scheduled to compete in both the 1500-meter and 5000 meter run, while Southern Connecticut State University's Ashley Bell and Josh Perry will each be competing in two events at the national championship meet. Bell will be participating in the 100 and 200-meter dash, while Perry will represent the Owls in the 800 and 1500-meter runs.
Bentley University's Amy Varsell has the fourth-fastest time in the 800-meter dash (2:09.46), while Adelphi University's Mychael Fabio has the fifth-fastest time heading into the national championships in the 400-meter dash (46.69).
Also, American International College's Bidemi Balogun qualified for and will be competing in the hammer throw for the third time in as many years.
The Northeast-10 is an association of 16 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that are committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,500 student-athletes. Each year, 4,500 of those student-athletes compete in Conference championships in 23 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country.
