Thirty-Five Northeast-10 Student-Athletes to Compete at 2014 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – The 2014 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships qualifiers were announced on Wednesday, as 35 Northeast-10 Conference student-athletes received invites to compete at nationals March 14-15 at Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The qualifying list included 21 men from three Northeast-10 institutions and 14 women from six different conference schools. For a complete list of Northeast-10 qualifiers, please see the lists below.

Both 2014 Northeast-10 Indoor Track Athletes of the Year will participate in two individual events. New Haven junior Ada Udaya will be in action in the women's 60- and 200-meter dashes, while American Int'l sophomore Michael Biwott will partake in the men's 5000- and 3000-meter runs at the men's championship.

Udaya is seeded second in the 60-meters and third in the 200-meters. Biwott is seeded second in the 5000.

So. Connecticut's Jasmine Bien-Aime (women's 60-meter, 200-meter) and Michael Lee (men's long jump, triple jump) will both be participating in two individual events as well, while the Owls' Nick Lebron is seeded first in the men's heptathlon.

Among the men's relays, both the American Int'l and Stonehill College distance medley relays will compete, as will the So. Connecticut 4x400 relay. The Stonehill women's distance medley relay will also compete on the national stage at Winston-Salem.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,000 student-athletes. Each year, 4,000 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 23 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship. Leading the way in the classroom, on the field and within the community, the Northeast-10 is proud of its comprehensive program and the experience it provides student-athletes.
