SOUTH EASTON, Mass. - Eleven Northeast-10 Conference student-athletes were selected as Capital One Academic All-Americans in the sports of cross country and track and field, it was announced today.

Among those that were selected were Bentley University's Amy Varsell, pictured. Varsell was named a First Team Academic All-American for the third time in her illustrious career. She was joined on the women's first team by teammate Tara Dooley.
On the men's side, Southern Connecticut State University's Logan Sharpe was named a First Team selection.
Sharpe's teammate, A.J. Guerra, who was recently named to the Northeast-10 Conference's Academic All-Conference team for the third team, was a second team honoree.
Stonehill College led the way with a program-record four student-athletes being named Academic All-Americans. Bentley followed with three, while the University of New Haven and So. Connecticut each had two student-athletes recognized.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,000 student-athletes.
Each year, 4,000 of those student-athletes compete in Conference championships in 23 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sports sponsorship. Leading the way in the classroom, on the field and within the community, the Northeast-10 Conference is proud of its comprehensive program and the experience it provides student-athletes.
