NE10 Championship Week: Southern Connecticut & Stonehill Repeat as NE10 Champions

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Southern Connecticut used a strong second of competition to pull away for its third straight NE10 Outdoor Title, while the Stonehill women trailed entering Saturday's competition but came through on Saturday to secure their fourth consecutive NE10 Outdoor Championship.


MEN'S RECAP

  • Buoyed by 12 top-three finishes, including an NE10 Title from Kade Amster and the team's 4x100 relay, the Owls totaled 207 points, 88 points ahead of second place Merrimack.
  • The 4x100 meter relay not only captured the NE10 Championship, but they also broke the NE10 record as Aaron RattleyElijah HenryLuke Velez  and Nigel Green finished in 40.87 seconds, breaking the 40.95 record that was previously set in 2018. - Read Full SCSU Recap Here
  • Merrimack earned second with 119 points, followed in the top five by American International (111), Stonehill (107) and Assumption (91).
  • Merrimack's Patrick Forrest was named the Most Outstanding Track Performer. He won the 400m in NE10-record time (46.53), while placing second in the 200m (21.29). His 4x100 relay took second to the Owls and he helped the team to a two second victory in the 4x400 relay (3:12.82) over Southern Conn.
  • Evangelos Fradelakis of Adelphi secured Outstanding Field Performer honors. The junior claimed the discus title with his toss of 46.82m and also placed third in the hammer with a toss of 55.0 meters. Fradelakis also earned points with a seventh place finish in the javelin.
  • The Panthers' Felipe Custodio earned a pair of NE10 Titles by sweeping the 100m (10.65) & 200m (21.20) events.
  • AIC had a pair of runners earn two individual NE10 Titles in Leakey Kipkosgei and Charles Joslin-Allen. Kipkosgei won championships in the 1500 meters (3:53.06) and also the 3000m steeplechase (9:09.81), an event in which he claimed the NCAA Championship at the end of May. Joslin-Allen, meanwhile earned titles in the 5000m (14.49.63) & 10000m (32:04.08) races.

WOMEN'S RECAP

  • The Stonehill women trailed Assumption by 13 points entering Saturday's competition but used a strong final day to surpass the Greyhounds and finish with a 185-169 edge. They had five total NE10 Champions and 21 top-three finishes to claim a fourth straight NE10 Title. - Read Full Stonehill Recap Here
  • Assumption was in second with 169 points, followed by Southern Conn. (83), Adelphi (73) and Southern New Hampshire (64).
  • Madison Ward earned an NE10 Title for Stonehill in the high jump while Olivia Dexter won both the 100m (11.91) and 200m (24.72) races. The team's 4x800 relay also earned an NE10 on Saturday as Alyssa Freeman, Kelly Higgins, Adrienne Santoro, and Anna Lastra won in 9:23.01.
  • Franklin Pierce's CeCe Telfer was honored as the Most Outstanding Track Performer by claiming three NE10 Titles. She won the 100m hurdles in an NE10-record 13.41, while also claiming victories in the 400m hurdles (1:03.35) and 400m (56.23).
  • Assumption's Emily Casella secured Outstanding Field Performer recognition by earning points in all four throwing events. She won the discus throw (42.28m), took second in both the javelin (39.69m) and shot put (13.58m) while also placing fifth in the hammer throw.
  • Kialeigh Marston of Assumption, meanwhile, claimed three NE10 Titles by winning the 3000m steeplechase (11:06.49), 1500m (4:34.28) and 5000m (17:24.75) races.
  • Bentley's Steph Mattson earned an NE10 Title in the long jump, while placing second in the triple jump. AIC's Dahsia Middlebrooks won the triple jump and was fifth in the long jump.
