NE10 Teams Gear Up for Indoor Track & Field Championship

Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship Held This Week in Boston


MANSFIELD, Mass. - The 2024 NE10 Indoor Track & Field Championship fires its' starting gun this week, competing over two days at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston, Mass on Friday and Saturday, February 16th and 17th. 

Previewing the upcoming championship, below is a list of student-athletes from each competing institution and selected by the NE10's head coaches as 'Athletes to Watch.'

Admission will be charged upon entry with single-day and two-day pricing. Prices are as follows: Single day adult pass $12, single day senior/youth $6. Two day adult $22, two day senior/youth $11. ATHLETES TO WATCH

ADELPHI
Bryan Combary
One of the top hurdlers in the NE10, Combary put up an NCAA provisional time (8.17 seconds) on December 1st at the Fastrack Season Opener.  That time has held up as the third-best score in the NE10 this season behind only New Haven's Jordany Dely and Combary's teammate David Williams.

David Williams
The freshman's 8.16 time in the 60m hurdles is the fastest in the NE10 this year.  The time is topped only by Jordany Dely's 8.07, however, that score was run on a 55m track.

Katherine & Isabel Marsh
There are two NE10 runners to put up NCAA provisional scores in the 800m this season and they happen to be twin sisters.  Katherine's 2:08.72 mark is tops in DII this season while Isabel's 2:11.57 is still eight seconds better than the next runner in the conference.  Both sisters have top three mile times in the NE10 as well.  Each twin claims an indoor 800m title, with Katherine winning in 2023 and Isabel in 2022.

AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL
Rebecca Toure
A thrower, and only a sophomore, Toure's 12.57m weight throw on December 8th places her in the top 15 in the conference.

Sadadine Adam
A cross-country All-NE10 selection this fall, the senior began the indoor season with a 15.14.70 time in the 5k at the Fastrack Season Opener on December 1st.  That time is still the fifth-best in the conference this year.  

ASSUMPTION
Camille Lopez
The junior's 59.17 second time in the 400m has been her best performance this season, sitting fourth in the NE10.  Lopez also runs the 60m and has the eighth-best time in the 200m in the league.  Lopez also races on the Greyhounds' 4x400 relay that ranks top five in the NE10.

George Dixon
A senior, Dixon holds a top three time in the NE10 in both the 200m and 400m this season along with a top 10 score in the 60m.

BENTLEY
Caitlin Burmester
Maybe the best distance runner in the NE10 not named Marsh, Burmester is third in the league in the 800m (2:19.01) and second in the mile (5:08.66).

Sam Balsis
Just a rookie, Balsis has posted top 10 scores in the 60m hurdles and the 4x400 relay.  In addition to running, Balsis also cleared 1.80m in the high jump on January 21st at the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational.

FRANKLIN PIERCE
Briahna Bouchard
One of two multis athletes on this list, Bouchard has the best pentathlon score in the NE10 this season at 2920 on January 19th at the Middlebury Winter Classic.  The junior has the second best score in the league in the 60m hurdles and the triple jump behind Gabrielle Teel.

Elizabeth Jones
The only vaulter to clear 3m in the NE10 this season, Jones posted a 3.30m (10'10'') score at the USM Husky Invitational on January 27th.  Jones in the NE10 indoor defending champion after a 3.05 mark at the league's 2023 event.

Stephen Harris
The fastest 200m runner in DII this season, Harris is one of two in the NE10 with an NCAA provisional time in the event having hit 21.11 at the end of January.  He also has the best 60m sprint time in the league (NCAA provisional) while posting the second-best 400m and the top high jump at 1.95m.  

NEW HAVEN
Gabrielle Teel
The top triple jumper in the NE10, her 11.65m mark at the Wesleyan Track & Field January Invite stands as an NCAA provisional mark 

Jimmy Oreste
A junior thrower, Oreste ranks fourth in the NE10 this season with a 16.07m weight throw.  The toss is the most recent of the top five scores in the league, happening February 3rd at the Boston University Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White event.

Jordany Dely
The fastest 60m hurdle time in the NE10 this year belongs to Dely, happening on a 55m track at the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge on December 8th.  The Junior also holds top 10 scores in the 60m dash and long jump while also competing in the 200m and 400m.  Dely is the NE10 60m Hurdles defending champion.

Savannah Sistrunk
The senior has a top 10 score in the 60m dash this season and ranks 15th in the NE10 in the 200m.

SAINT ANSELM
Jaidin Haynes
A two-sport star (also on the gridiron), Haynes holds the second-best long jump in the NE10 this season. His 6.78m leap on February 3rd earned him NE10 Field Athlete of the Week honors.  Haynes also boasts a top 10 score in the conference in the 60m dash.

Rebecca Cady
One of the top rookies in the NE10 this season, Cady's posted the third-best score in both the 60m and 400m and the fourth best time in the 200m.  

SAINT ROSE
Reese Casinelli
Just a sophomore, Casinelli holds the fourth-best 400m time in the NE10, running in 49.65 at the Utica Blue and Orange Invite on January 26th.  He also holds a top 15 time in the 60m.

Sara Fitzgerald
A contender in the 800m, Fitzgerald is also part of the fifth-ranked 4x400 team for the Golden Knights.

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT
Cameron Belton
The best with the shotput in the NE10, Belton holds an NCAA provisional mark of 17.11m from the Riverhawk Invitational on January 26th.  Belton holds the top two shotput marks in NE10 Championship history from each of the last two years.

Ella Maclean
Maclean has an NCAA provisional time of 7.63 in the 60m (55) from the Art Kadish Elm City Challenge. That score is also No. 1 in the NE10 this season, as is her 24.97 score in the 200m at the Riverhawk Invitational.  Maclean is the NE10's defending champion in both events.

Jon Volpe
One of the top distance runners in the NE10, Volpe set an SCSU school record when he ran the mile in 4:03.16 at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Classic.  That score is the best in the NE10 by 12 seconds and is an NCAA provisional mark.  Volpe also has an NCAA provisional time in the 3k and the second best mark in the league in the 800m.  Volpe set the NE10 800m record at the 2023 NE10 Championsip. 

Kisha Francois
Part of the best long jumping trio in the NE10 (with Jasmyn Bransford and Mackenzie Glenn – three of the top four scores), Francois scored a 5.86m mark at the William Sutherland Invite in January to lead the league.  She also ranks second in the 60m and 200m.  Francois is the NE10 long jump defending champion. 

SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
Emma Hallet
The third-best multis athlete in the NE10 this season, Hallet's most dangerous on the high jump where her 1.57m leap at the Dartmouth December Invite ranks second on the league leaderboard.  Only Adelphi's Lindsey Wilson has jumped higher.  Hallet also participates on SNHU's 4x400 team that ranks sixth in the conference with a 4:32.87 time. 

Laila Bunnitt
A senior, Bunnitt is among the best throwers in the conference.  She holds the top shotput at 12.08m and the second best weight throw at 14.63m at the Dartmouth December Invite.  Bunnitt was the final Field Athlete of the Week in the conference this season.
