NE10 Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Diego Llanos, Adelphi
Senior | Fresh Meadows, N.Y.
Diego Llanos ran a season-best in the 800m race at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational, clocking in at 1:55.22 which is second best in the NE10 after the weekend.
NE10 Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Andre Francis, Adelphi
Junior | Ozone Park, N.Y.
Francis placed fourth overall in the weight throw at the Fastrack National Invite, landing his best launch at 16.41m - which is his second best distance this season and ranks third in the NE10.
NE10 Men's Track Rookie of the Week
James Cognata, Saint Anselm
Freshman | Winthrop, Maine
Cognata finished 60th out of 213 competitors in the 400-meter dash on Saturday at the David Hemery Valentine Invite with a time of 49.32. The Winthrop native earned a new personal best with his time and now sits fifth overall among conference opponents in the event.
NE10 Men's Field Rookie of the Week
Bishopp Boutin, Adelphi
Freshman l Brooklyn, N.Y.
Boutin was responsible for a season best time of 8.64 in the 60HH, winning his heat at the Fastrack National Invite. This time moves him up to #7 in the NE10, as the #2 rookie (second only to teammate David Williams on the list). Jumped his second best high jump height, clearing 1.80m to place third overall.
NE10 Men's Relay of the Week
4x400 Relay, Southern Connecticut State
At Boston University, the Owls' 4x400 Relay team of Sam Sandler, Max Musial, Hunter Dale and Nolan Freeman finished in 13th place out of 43 teams with a time of 3:15.59.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Evan Bean, Bentley (Sr., Clifton Park, N.Y.)
Bean ran a season best time in the 400 at 51.03 on Saturday at the David Hemery Valentine. That bested his previous top time of 52.68 in the 400, which he set the previous weekend.
Jacky Marescot, New Haven (Gr., Spring Valley, N.Y.)
At the lone meet of the week, Marescot competed in a pair of jumping events highlighting his efforts in the high jump where he finished second among the field of 16 competitors topping a height of 1.80 meters (5'10.75"). In addition, he also participated in the triple jump where he finished 11th overall with a distance of 13.83 meters (45'4.5").
Samuel Jones, Saint Anselm (Fr., Salem N.H.)
On Saturday at the David Hemery Valentine Invite, Jones clocked in at 22.37 in the 200-meter dash to capture a 64th-place finish out of 209 competitors. His time in the 200-meter dash marks a new personal best and ranks him fifth overall against conference opponents in the event.
