NE10 Offensive Player of the Week
Christopher Ais, New Haven
Sophomore | Running Back | Stoughton, Mass.
For the second-straight week, Ais set a career-high in rushing, putting up 183 net yards in the Chargers road win over Saint Anselm. Included was a 73-yard run on the very first play of the game as he found a hole in the middle of the line and broke free down the right side. Overall, Ais carried the ball 22 times and lost just three yards total on the day. That first play TD was his first of two on the day, with the second a receiving touchdown on his lone catch that he advanced 13 yards for the score.
NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
Jailen Branch, Bentley
Senior | Defensive Back | Randolph, Mass.
Branch intercepted two passes and was credited with one tackle during the Falcons' 41-0 shutout of Franklin Pierce on the road. His effort helped Bentley limit the Ravens to 167 yards total offense and 1-of-11 on third-down conversions. The only NE10 player who was named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and the only one selected as a NFF Campbell Trophy semifinalist is tied for the conference lead in interceptions with three.
NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week
Mason Campbell, Bentley
Junior | Kicker | Naples, Fla.
Campbell scored 11 points in Bentley's 41-0 victory at Franklin Pierce as he made both his field goal attempts (32, 20 yards) and was 5-for-5 on extra points. For the season, he leads the Northeast-10 in scoring with 40 points (7/8 FG, 19/19 PAT).
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Nasir Robinson, Pace
Freshman | Running Back | Penns Grove, N.J.
Robinson posted one of the most dominant rushing performances of the season during Pace's 45-6 win over Post. The freshman racked up 137 yards on just 10 carries while tallying a trio of touchdown runs. Robinson's 48-yard scoring scamper in the third quarter provided the Setters with a 42-0 lead. He is now ranked third in the NE10 in rushing this season at 67.0 yards per game.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Lorenzo Valencia, Assumption (Sr., LB - Ruskin, Fla.)
Valencia recorded five solo tackles including an interception in the fourth quarter, which help seal the 28-14 win for the Greyhounds.
Mark Waid, Bentley (Gr., QB - Cortland, Ohio)
In a 41-0 win at Franklin Pierce, Waid accounted four touchdowns with three through the air (39, 26, 9 yards) and one on the ground (1 yard). The Youngstown State transfer ran for 103 yards on 16 carries and completed 10 of 22 passes for 157 yards. All told, he accounted for 240 yards total offense and averaged 6.3 yards per play. Waid ranks fourth nationally in rushing yards by a quarterback.
Tyquon Stokes, Franklin Pierce (So., LB - Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Had a busy stat line in Saturday's 41-0 loss at home to Bentley, with five tackles (two solo), one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one interception, one pass breakup and a pair of quarterback hurries.
David Onyemem, New Haven (Gr., LB - Dracut, Mass.)
For the second week in a row, Onyemem led the New Haven defense with a season-best for all players of 13 tackles, including nine solo tackles. Also included in that total were a pair of tackles for a loss. He also added a forced fumble and a pair of pass breakups. Overall, the Chargers defense forced four fumbles and intercepted a pair of passes.
Taylor Pawelkoski, Saint Anselm (Sr., LB - Bradenton, Fla.)
Pawelkoski led the Hawks with 10 tackles, recording his second double-digit tackle game of the 2022 season, on Saturday against No. 24 New Haven. He also contributed with a seven-yard sack and exited the game ranked sixth in the NE10 with 7.2 tackles per game.
Tylon Papallo, Southern Conn. St. (Sr., WR - Meriden, Conn.)
Papallo led the Owls with 106 yards receiving on four receptions with a 69-yard touchdown catch, which stands as the second-longest reception in the NE10 this season. He also returned three punts for 57 yards, with a season-best 42-yard return. Papallo leads the NE10 in total receiving yards (340), yards per game (68), yards per catch (14.8) and is second with two receiving touchdowns.
