NE10 Offensive Player of the Week
Carlton Aiken, Pace

Aiken continued his sensational 2022 season with a dominant performance during the Setters' 45-34 win over AIC last week. Pace's Homecoming MVP totaled 372 yards and four touchdowns as Pace improved its record to 4-3 this year. He tossed three first-half touchdowns before running in for another score in the fourth quarter. Aiken finished the day with 250 yards through the air and another 122 on the ground. He is now ranked inside the top-four of the NE10 in both passing and rushing this season while leading the conference in total touchdowns (17).
NE10 Defensive Player of the Week
Salvatore Lupoli, Jr., Bentley
Junior | Linebacker | Chelmsford, Mass.
In a 10-3 win at Assumption, Lupoli Jr. contributed eight tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception as Bentley continued its streak of outstanding defensive performances. Assumption's only redzone play of the afternoon, late in the first quarter, ended with Lupoli Jr. scooping up the loose ball and returning it 33 yards to the Greyhound 45. The interception came with 1:59 left and essentially secured the victory for the visitors. The Bentley defense has allowed only one touchdown in its last 14 quarters and is ranked in the top five nationally. Lupoli, the conference leader in tackles, was this week's NEFW Division II-III Gold Helmet Award honoree.
NE10 Special Teams Player of the Week
Tylon Papallo, Southern Connecticut
Senior | Wide Receiver/Punt Returner | Meriden, Conn.
Papallo only touched the ball four times against the Ravens, but scored on two of them. Papallo had the Owls' second touchdown of the day when he returned a punt from Southern's 18-yard to the house for an 82-yard punt return for a touchdown. Papallo's 82-yard return was the longest of the season in the NE10 and the first touchdown off a punt return this season in the conference. On the Owls' next possession, Papallo streaked through the Ravens' secondary and was on the other end of a flea flicker for a 49-yard touchdown catch.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Alex Benitez, Franklin Pierce
Freshman | Running Back | Belle Meade, N.J.
Punted four times for 163 yards, to average 40.8 yards per punt, in Saturday's 37-20 loss at SCSU. His longest punt of the day went for 46 yards, and he forced one fair catch. Mixed in five rushes for 28 yards (5.6 yards per carry) and one catch for one yard along the way.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Charlie Ogletree, Bentley (Sr., P - Needham, Mass.)
In a 10-3 win at Assumption, Ogletree placed five of his career-high nine punts inside the 20 and three of those inside the Greyhound five. He averaged 38.4 yards and set a career-best with a 61-yarder to the Assumption 17.
EJ Burgess, Franklin Pierce (Sr., RB - Pearland, Texas)
Rushed 23 times for 136 yards (5.9 yards per rush) and a touchdown, in Saturday's 37-20 loss at SCSU. Added two catches for 16 yards, to finish with 152 all-purpose yards.
Damon Burton Jr., New Haven (Gr., LB - Rochester, N.Y.)
Burton led the Chargers defense on the weekend with five tackles and one of three interceptions by the New Haven, all of which resulted in Chargers TD's. Of his five tackles, four were solo stops.
Connor Degenhardt, New Haven (Gr., QB - Westford, Mass.)
Degenhardt led the Chargers offense to an explosion of 10 touchdowns in a 67-20 win over Post this past weekend. The Chargers starting quarterback finished the day with five touchdowns, throwing four and running in the fifth. The graduate student completed 72.7 percent of passes, 16-of-22, for 259 yards, averaging 11.8 yards per attempt. Among his four touchdowns was the longest of the season which went into the books as an 89 yard touchdown pass to Dev Holmes, one of two for the wideout in the game. His rushing TD was the first of the day for the Chargers as he completed a seven play drive with a four-yard run to the left and into the end zone. He would finish the game with 14 yards rushing.
Nasier Givens, Pace (Gr., DE - Newark, N.J.)
Givens was a defensive menace during the Setters' 45-34 win over AIC last week. The team captain finished with two sacks, three tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble. Givens is now slotted third in the NE10 in sacks this season (5).
Joe Digello, Southern Conn. St. (So, LB - Orange, Conn.)
In the Owls' first win of the 2022 season, Joe Digello (Orange, Conn.) had just four tackles, but two came as sacks while his 2.5 tackles for loss totaled 50 yards for the Owls' defense. Digello also forced one fumble on a sack that halted Franklin Pierce in the red zone.
Szymon Gawlick, Southern Conn. St. (So. , PK - Newton, Mass.)
Gawlick had a perfect day in converted 3-of-3 field goals and four extra-point attempts. Gawlick hit on field goals from 17, 27 and 37 yards in the Owls' win against Franklin Pierce.
