BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the second year in a row, Amanda Thomas of the Southern Connecticut State University women’s swimming & diving team was named the Division II National Swimmer of the Meet at the conclusion of the NCAA Championships.
Voting was conducted by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCA).
Thomas concluded this year’s NCAA Championship with her third straight national title in the 200 individual medley, which was the fourth NCAA overall crown of her career. She also finished as the runner-up in the 200 butterfly, was third in the 400 IM and sixth in the 200 backstroke. Thomas collected All-America honors in all four events.
As a result of her efforts this weekend, Thomas capped her collegiate career as an 18-time All-American. She won four NCAA individual titles and also finished as the runner-up in four additional races.
