Assumption Men's Basketball Signs 11-Year-Old Ben Through Team IMPACT

Ben Officially Signed with the Assumption Men's Basketball Program on November 14.


WORCESTER, Mass. – Assumption University men's basketball head coach Scott Faucher announced a new team member, signing 11-year-old Ben Cloutier through Team IMPACT.

Ben, who has been receiving treatment for Hirschsprung's disease, was officially introduced on campus at a signing day press conference on Tuesday, November 14th. He will participate in many activities with the team, including games, practices, and other team events.
 
Team IMPACT, a national non-profit organization, has developed a unique multiyear program that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams nationwide. Based on a clinical model, Team IMPACT guides a symbiotic relationship between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment, and resilience.
 
"Team IMPACT is excited to see Ben officially join the Greyhounds," said Emma Simches, Regional Director of Programs, Northeast at Team IMPACT. "We are proud to work alongside Assumption, their athletic department, and coaching staff to create lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes between student-athletes and their Team IMPACT teammates."
 
Assumption University has worked with Team IMPACT for the past 11 years, matching 18 children across its women's and men's soccer, baseball, women's volleyball, softball, men's basketball, men's hockey, women's and men's lacrosse, football, and women's field hockey teams.
 
"We are thrilled to welcome Ben to our team officially! He has been a great addition to our team already. Ben adds positive energy during practices and games, and he always gets the team fired up during our pregame talks," said Faucher.
