SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – The Northeast-10 Conference is pleased to announce its Commissioner’s Honor Roll for the Fall 2013 semester, as approximately 58 percent of all Northeast-10 student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher. In all, a total of 3,269 individuals appear on the fall list.

The Northeast-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll (CHR) recognizes the conference’s student-athletes for their achievements within the classroom. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have met and or exceeded a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for the fall semester.

Among those honored, 120 student-athletes posted perfect 4.0 grade point averages, and nearly 42 percent of the 3,269 posted a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

"We're extremely proud of the academic accomplishments of our student-athletes,” said Northeast-10 commissioner Julie Ruppert. “The fact that 58 percent of nearly 6,000 students reached this benchmark again illustrates that our student-athletes have proven to excel in the academic arena as well as on the field."

Bentley University had the most student-athletes recognized (370) and was second among Northeast-10 schools in percentage of student-athletes named to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll at 74 percent.

Adelphi University was first in terms of percentage at 83 percent (247 of 297), while Le Moyne College (67%), Southern New Hampshire University (64%), Saint Michael’s College (61%) and Stonehill College (60%) all met or topped the 60-percent threshold. Thirteen of the 15 Northeast-10 member institutions had rates of 50 percent or higher.

Stonehill was second with a total of 261 student-athletes recognized, followed by Assumption College with 250.

By sport, women’s soccer had the highest number of student-athletes recognized at 279, while baseball and football had 274 apiece. Men’s lacrosse was fourth on that list with 242 honorees, followed by women’s lacrosse in fifth at 236.

Men’s soccer, women’s track & field, softball and men’s track & field also exceeded 200 student-athletes earning the Fall 2013 CHR distinction as well.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for 6,000 student-athletes. Each year, 4,000 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 23 sports, making the Northeast-10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship. Leading the way in the classroom, on the field and within the community, the Northeast-10 is proud of its comprehensive program and the experience it provides student-athletes.
