Six NE-10 Institutions Finish Among Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup Top 75

Stonehill, Adelphi and Southern Connecticut Crack Top 50

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Six member institutions of the Northeast-10 Conference have finished in the top 75 of the 2014-15 Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings, including three in the top 50.

All 15 NE-10 member schools collected points to land on the final list. To view the final standings sorted by conference, please click here.

The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution’s finish in up to 14 sports — seven women’s and seven men’s.

Northeast-10 Presidents’ Cup winner Stonehill led the way, finishing in 30th with a total of 452 points. After racking up 350 points through the fall and winter seasons, the Skyhawks collected 102 points from four teams in the spring. Stonehill had the ninth-most points of any school in the fall with 187.

Adelphi wasn’t far behind, sitting in 35th with 415 points on the year. Led by its National Champion women’s lacrosse team, Adelphi had one of the best springs of any Division II school in the country. The Panthers garnered an impressive 309 points from six different teams this past spring.

Anchored by its track & field program, Southern Connecticut wound up 50th overall with 331.5 points. Rounding out the top 75 schools were New Haven in 62nd with 287.75 points, Merrimack at No. 73 with 250.5 and Southern New Hampshire in 75th with 248. 

Le Moyne totaled all 199 of its points during the spring to finish at No. 102. American International (186.7 pts.) and Franklin Pierce (182) came in at 112 and 116, respectively. Saint Rose (167th), Saint Michael’s (189th), Bentley (194th), Saint Anselm (209th), Assumption (t-237) and Pace (t-237) all gathered points on the year.
