NE-10 Announces 2015-16 Man and Woman of the Year Nominees

MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Northeast-10 Conference announced it's institutional nominees for the league's Man and Woman of the Year awards, both of which are selected by the organization’s Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) Council.

Each nominee is a senior student-athlete and the conference office will announce three finalists for each award next week. The two respective winners are set to be announced and honored at the Northeast-10 Year-End banquet in Providence, R.I.. next month.

The 2015-16 academic year marks the fourth year in which a Man of the Year will be named, while the Northeast-10 Woman of the Year honoree will be put forth as the NE-10's official NCAA Woman of the Year nominee.

Lacrosse student-athletes account for seven nominees, while basketball players totaled six of the 30 candidates. The sports of field hockey and soccer each have five nominees among this year's nominations.

ABOUT THE NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,000 student-athletes.

Each year, 4,500 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 23 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship.
