For Immediate Release:

Members of the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team, coaching staff and athletic department administration will show their support for cancer awareness this weekend, and they asking anyone attending Saturday's game against nationally-ranked Southern Connecticut State University to do the same.

The Women's Basketball Coaches Association has designed this weekend "Cancer Awareness Weekend", and everyone attending Saturday's game is encouraged to wear pink as a show of support for the brave individuals battling cancer. The SNHU women's hoop team will do its part, as they will wear pink t-shirts during pre-game warm-ups and will wear the same pink t-shirts on the bench during the game. Fans can purchase these "special edition" pink SNHU Basketball t-shirts at the game for $15. A percentage of the t-shirt sales will be donated to cancer research.

This weekend's "Think Pink" campaign is a nationwide effort by the WBCA to raise awareness for cancer research, and to unify the women’s basketball world in a show of support for all coaches who are battling cancer.

SNHU will host Southern Connecticut State University in a Northeast-10 Conference doubleheader Saturday. The women's game tip's off at 1:30 p.m., followed by the men at 3:30 p.m.
