Saint Anselm Honored for Make-A-Wish Contributions
Manchester, N.H. (January 26) -- On Friday night at Sullivan
Arena, the Saint Anselm Student-Athlete Advisory Committee was
honored for again leading all of NCAA Division II for contributions
to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
During the first-period intermission, Northeast-10 Assistant
Commissioner Erin Callahan presented a plaque to Saint Anselm
Director of Athletics Ed Cannon, Associate Director Donna Guimont,
and two members of the Saint Anselm Student-Athlete Advisory
Committee (Andrew Roy - Men's Lacrosse, Colleen Gilbride - Women's
Cross Country).
"We are certainly proud of our student-athletes here at Saint
Anselm and of our Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for their
contributions each year, guided by our associate director of
athletics Donna Guimont" said Cannon. "Being recognized for this
worthy cause is a measuring stick of the overall atmosphere of the
Saint Anselm community and how everyone embraces the spirit of
giving throughout the campus."
During the 2005-2006 academic year, the Division II
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee sponsored a Make-A-Wish
Foundation fundraising campaign. The Northeast-10 Conference's
total contribution to Make-A-Wish was the largest of any Division
II Conference in the country. For the third year in a row, Saint
Anselm was the largest single contributor in the Northeast-10 and
all of Division II with a total contribution of $4,050.
