Bryant University Repeats as Unanimous Favorite in NE-10 Golf Poll

South Easton, Mass. – The Bulldogs of Bryant University, Northeast-10 tournament champions in 2003 and 2004, have been selected as the favorite to collect a third consecutive conference championship title, as demonstrated by the 2005 men’s golf preseason coaches’ poll.

The Bulldogs garnered the top position on each coaches’ list as they took all 12 first place votes, amassing a total of 144 points.

Le Moyne College earned 128 points and second place, while Assumption College garnered 110 points to finish third in the voting.

Collecting 103 votes to earn a fourth place position are the Falcons of Bentley College. Southern New Hampshire University and The College of Saint Rose followed in fifth and sixth place with 92 and 86 points respectively.

Pace University, Saint Anselm College, the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Saint Michael’s College, Franklin Pierce College and American International College rounded out the poll.

For the seventh consecutive year, Le Moyne will host the Northeast-10 Championship. The tournament is scheduled to take place at The Links at Sunset Ridge in Marcellus, N.Y. on September 24-25.

Sponsoring 23 championship sports and 15 full-time members, the Northeast-10 is the second largest NCAA Division II athletic conference in the nation and sponsors the most championships of any Division II conference.
