South Easton, Mass. – The Le Moyne College men's soccer team jumped three spots up to the number one ranking in the recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II Men's Soccer National Poll. The Dolphins were ranked fourth in the national preseason poll.
Two other Northeast-10 institutions received national rankings as well and include Southern New Hampshire University and Franklin Pierce University ranked eighth and 14th respectively. The Penmen were previously ranked eighth in the preseason poll, while the Ravens moved up two spots after being ranked 16th in the preseason.
Southern New Hampshire's (2-0) next game is Wednesday afternoon as the Penmen host the University of Bridgeport, while Le Moyne (1-1) returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 11 when they travel to Dowling College for a 1 p.m. contest. Franklin Pierce (2-1) is idle until Tuesday, Sept. 14 when the Ravens travel to UMass Lowell for their first NE-10 conference match of the season.
With 16 member institutions the Northeast-10 shares the distinction of being the largest Division II conference in the country along with the PSAC and WVIAC. Its 23 championship sports provide athletic opportunities for over 5,500 student-athletes, the largest such program of any Division II conference.
