South Easton, Mass. – Southern New Hampshire University's men's soccer team once again clinched the number four ranking in the recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II Men's Soccer National Poll. This marks the second straight week that the Penmen are ranked number four after jumping four spots from number eight in the first week's poll.
Merrimack College also jumped in this week's poll from number 18 to number 16, marking the second straight week that the Warriors have appeared in the National Rankings.
Franklin Pierce University returned to the rankings this week, tying Mars Hill (N.C.) at number 25.
Southern New Hampshire (6-0-1, 3-0-1 NE-10) began its season with six straight wins followed by a tie against UMass Lowell yesterday. The Penmen continue play this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Dowling College.
Merrimack (6-0, 2-0 NE-10) has won six straight games and remains undefeated after two wins this past week against The College of Saint Rose and Stonehill College. The Warriors look to extend their winning streak on the road as they play nationally ranked Franklin Pierce Sunday at 4 p.m.
Franklin Pierce (5-1, 3-0 NE-10) finished its week with two victories, both which went into overtime, against the University of New Haven and Le Moyne College. The Ravens have won their past three games and hope to continue their winning streak as they host nationally ranked Merrimack College Sunday at 4 p.m.
The Northeast-10 is an association of 16 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that are committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,500 student-athletes.
