Northeast-10 Conference Women?s Soccer All Conference Teams Announced

South Easton, Mass. Senior forward Laura Hislop of Franklin Pierce College has been named 2005 Northeast-10 Conference Womens Soccer Player of the Year as voted by the conference coaches. A native of Belfast, Northern Ireland, Hislop leads the Ravens in goals (20) and assists (9) in 17 games played this season while helping her team capture its fifth straight Northeast-10 Regular Season Championship and a 15-1-2 overall record. Hislop was the leagues Player of the Year in 2004 and NSCAA Division II Player of the Year in 2003.

Southern Connecticut State Universitys Gina DellaRose, a midfielder from Prospect, Conn., was selected as the 2005 Northeast-10 Freshman of the Year.

From Bryant University, senior Hannah Sandrowski from Trumball, Conn. was named the Defensive Player of the Year, while Assumption Colleges Lauren Matysiak, a sophomore from Holden, Mass., was deemed the Goalkeeper of the Year.

The University of Massachusetts Lowell fourth-year head coach Ellie Monteiro was named the Northeast-10 Coach of the Year in a vote of his peers.

Hislop, Sandrowski and Matysiak were also named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team. They were joined by Assumptions Andrea Marcoccio and Kristen Cannon, Franklin Pierces Sonya Hughes and Alex Scavo, Lindsay Sheffield, Laura Asbell and Heather Carr of Merrimack College, Marta Anderson-Winchell of Pace University, Jocelyn Savastano of Saint Anselm College and Lindsay Bove of The College of Saint Rose.

The Northeast-10 All-Conference Second Team included DellaRose, Bryants Casey Grange and Terri Gidius, UMass Lowells Kristen Mahoney and Caitlin Leary, Merrimacks Hillary Caccamo and Hillary McGarr, Saint Roses Kylee Litchfield, Courtney Goess and Lauren Steinberg, Southern Connecticuts Cristina DelBuona and Stonehill Colleges Kate McCarthy, Lauren Boyd and Alex Eckhardt.

The Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team included Assumptions Lauren Ditolla, Bryants Tricia Spada, Franklin Pierces Mia Makarainen, Paces Kelly Fazio, Saint Anselms Kayla Gelinas, Laura Wesley of Saint Michaels College, Saint Roses Kailey Egbert and Sami Brown, Southern New Hampshire Universitys Nicole Cote, Laurie Boland and Carolyn Mahoney, Southern Connecticuts Stephanie McGinley and Stonehills Nicole Vailas.
