Golden Knights On Top in East Regional Poll

South Easton, Mass. – The College of Saint Rose's women's soccer team is still undefeated and is still on top of the NSCAA/ Hendrickcars.com National Poll for the eighth consecutive week. The Golden Knights have been ranked number one since they took over the top spot on September 14th. Saint Rose is also ranked first in the East Regional Rankings, which were released today.

The Golden Knights are now 19-0 this season, following their Northeast-10 Conference Tournament Quarterfinal win over New Haven, 5-1. They will put their perfect mark on the line when they host American International College in tomorrow's conference semifinal game.

Merrimack College fell two slots in this week's national poll to #22, and Franklin Pierce University was one of the school's receiving votes in the poll, which was released on Tuesday. If the seeds hold up, the Golden Knights and the Warriors would face one another in the conference tournament championship game that is scheduled to take place on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. EST.

In the East Regional Rankings, seven Northeast-10 Conference schools are among the top ten currently. Saint Rose leads the way, followed by Franklin Pierce and American Int'l at two and three, respectively. Merrimack checks in at five, while Southern Connecticut State University is ranked sixth. Stonehill College is eighth in the regional poll, and Southern New Hampshire University rounds out the top ten this week.

This will be the final regional poll this season, as the NCAA Division II Selection Show will be held this Monday, Nov. 8 to announce the Women's Soccer Tournament field. The selection show is scheduled to being at 7 p.m. on NCAA.com.
