SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Southern Connecticut University (pictured, right) won its 11th straight Northeast-10 Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field Championship with 228 points Saturday afternoon on the campus of American International College.

The University of Massachusetts Lowell (pictured, below) accumulated 189 points to win the Northeast-10 Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship. 

The University of New Haven's David Thomas took home two pieces of hardware Saturday, as he was named the Men's Athlete of the Year and the Men's Most Valuable Athlete of the championship meet. Thomas broke the men's 100 meter conference record on Saturday, finishing the event in 10.65. He also set a new conference mark in the long jump on Friday with a leap of 7.64 meters.

UMass Lowell's Antoinette Toussaint was crowned the Women's Most Valuable Athlete of the Meet.

New Haven's Ada Udaya earned the Women's Athlete of the Year award. She set a new Northeast-10 record in the women's 100 meter with a time of 11.69, besting Shannon Cunningham's old mark.

American Int'l swept the Rookie of the Year awards, as Michael Biwott and Britt Bryant took home the respective men's and women's honors.

The Men's Coach of the Year went to So. Connecticut's John Wallin, while UMass Lowell's Gary Gardner was named Women's Coach of the Year. 

Among the notable performances on Saturday was UMass Lowell's Elisabeth Monty, who set a new conference mark in the women's 400 meters with a time of 55.67. She also set the new record in the women's 100 meter hurdles in 14.03.

Bentley University's Caitlin Fahey, after setting a new conference record in the 1500 meters on Friday, also set a new benchmark in the 800 meter on Saturday with a time of 2:11.69. 

Adelphi's Rosie Vassilatos set the new mark in the women's 400 meter hurdles, finishing in a time of 1:01.49. 

So. Connecticut's Arthur Guerra broke his own NE-10 mark in the men's hammer throw with a toss of 57.91 meters. Teammate Michael Lee also set a new mark in the men's triple jump (14.93m).

Both 4x400 relay records fell, as the So. Connecticut men (3:09.07) and New Haven women (3:47.34) each set new conference championship bests. New Haven also set a new women's record in the 4x100 relay (46.84).

Franklin Pierce freshman Vinny Biunno won the men's decathlon with 6,216 points, as the rookie finished first in five of the 10 events. 

American Int'l junior Jenna Miller won the women's heptathlon, finishing with 3,861 points. Miller won three of the seven events and finished second in two others.
