Twenty-Seven Track & Field Student-Athletes Receive All-Academic Honors

South Easton, Mass. – Twenty-seven student-athletes representing six Northeast-10 Conference member institutions have been named to the respective 2012 Division II All-Academic Track & Field teams, as announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Eleven student-athletes were among the 164 men's honorees, while 16 were named to the women's team, which saw 317 earn All-America status.

Southern Connecticut State University had nine (six women, three men) receive All-Academic honors, and the University of Massachusetts Lowell placed three on each team. American International College and Bentley University had four selections apiece, while the University of New Haven and Stonehill College both had two honorees.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either indoor or outdoor seasons.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 16 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,000 student-athletes. Each year, 4,000 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 23 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country. Leading the way in the classroom, on the field and within the community, the Northeast-10 is proud of its comprehensive program and the experience it provides student-athletes.
