Northeast-10 Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week

Ricky Chidsey, Le Moyne (So., Liverpool, NY) - Won five individual events and teamed for a relay win this past week. Won the 100-yard backstroke (54.06), 100-yard freestyle (48.06) and 200-yard IM (2:03.88) and swam the first leg of a relay win in the 400-yard medley (3:42.59) in a setback at Oswego.  In a duel with Boston College, won the 100-yard backstroke (54.20) and 200-yard freestyle (1:49.26).

Northeast-10 Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week

Alison Lesher, Le Moyne (Jr., Sherrill, NY) - Had five individual wins this past week against Oswego and Boston College. Set a program record and qualified for the NCAA Championship with a 10:36.57 in the 1,000-yard freestyle against Boston College. Also won the 100-yard free in 54.80 against Boston College. Won the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:57.76), 200-yard butterfly (2:13.50) and 100-yard butterfly (1:00.45) in a dual meet at Oswego.

Northeast-10 Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week

Ali Bronson, Southern Connecticut (Jr., Torrington, CT) - Placed third in the three-meter diving (218.20) and fourth in the one-meter diving at the Sonny Werblin Invitational.

Northeast-10 Men’s Freshman of the Week

Eric Riganti, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Brewster, NY) - At the Sonny Werblin Invitational at Rutgers, was second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:17.13.

Northeast-10 Women’s Freshmen of the Week

Nicole Murphy, Le Moyne (Fr., Camillus, NY) - Captured three individual wins and teamed for a relay win in a dual meet at Oswego and won two events in a home dual meet with Boston College. Won the 100-yard breast (1:10.81), 200-yard breast (2:32.97), 200-yard IM (2:19.67) and teamed for the 400-yard medley relay (4:12.91) win in the loss at Oswego. At a loss to Boston College finished first in the 50-yard breast (32.39) and 100-yard breast (1:10.20).

Weekly Honor Roll:

Ryan Lowrie, Le Moyne (Jr., Johnson City, NY) – Won three individual events and teamed for two relay wins this past week.  Finished first in the 100-yard butterfly (53.12) in a duel meet with Boston College.  Won the 100-yard butterfly (54.42) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:07.46) in a loss at Oswego.  Teamed up for wins in the 400-yard medley (3:42.59) and the 400-yard relay (3:24.62)

Stephen Croll, Southern Connecticut (So., Glastonbury, CT) – Finished second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.97 seconds, being touched out by 1/100th of a second and finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.66 at the Sonny Werblin Invitational

Cody Hall, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Parker, CO) – Finished ninth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:10.78, passing the NCAA Division II “B” qualifying standard at the Sonny Werblin Invitational.

Emily Sundel, Southern Connecticut (Fr., West Hartford, CT) – Placed fifth in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:31.18 to pass the NCAA Division II “B” qualifying standard.  Her time was just .29 seconds short of the NCAA “A”.

Dan Vitagliano, Southern Connecticut (Jr., New Haven, CT) – Placed second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.50) and the 100-yard butterfly (52.75); third in the 100-yard freestyle (48.25); and eighth in the mile (16:55.26) at the Sonny Werblin Invitational.
