Northeast-10 Men’s Co-Swimming Athletes of the
Week
Arthur Engelhard, Bentley (Sr., Apalachin, N.Y.) - Helped Bentley
to a 152-141 win over Saint Rose by winning the 200 backstroke
(2:04.19) and 100 back (55.84), and leading off the winning 200
medley relay team (1:43.18). Also swam the fastest leg on the 200
free relay team, which finished second (1:32.77).
Dan Vitagliano, Southern Connecticut (Sr., New Haven, Conn.) - Won
three events against Marist, which include the 100-yard butterfly
(52.78), 100-yard freestyle (47.56) and 200-yard freestyle
(1:43.53).
Northeast-10 Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week
Kristen Frost, Southern Connecticut (So., Madison, Conn.) - Set an
NCAA Division II record in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:53.75)
against Marist, bettering the old mark of 9:55.47 set by Diana
Betsworth of Truman State on March 16, 2002. Also won the 200-yard
freestyle (1:55.6), 200-yard backstroke (2:06.8) and swam on the
victorious 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:43.99).
Northeast-10 Men’s Diving Athlete of the Week
Jason Flores, Southern Connecticut (Sr., New Haven, Conn.) - Won
three-meter diving (273.15) against Marist.
Northeast-10 Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week
Emily Travers, Bentley (Fr., Brentwood, N.H.) - During a 177-108
win over Saint Rose, finished first on the three-meter board
(185.63) and second on the one-meter (218.03).
Northeast-10 Men’s Freshman of the Week
Aaron Rocheleau, Southern Connecticut (Fr., Newington, Conn.) - Won
three events against Marist on Saturday: the 100-yard backstroke
(54.21), 200-yard backstroke (1:56.96) and 200-yard individual
medley (1:57.81).
Northeast-10 Women’s Freshman of the Week
Anne Kaduboski, Bentley (Fr., Dedham, Mass.) - Posted winning
efforts in the 200 butterfly (2:15.48), 100 fly (1:01.51) and 200
individual medley (2:18.91) during a 177-108 win over Saint Rose.
Also helped Bentley win the 200 medley relay with a time of
1:57.42.
Weekly Honor Roll:
Arden Brust, Bentley (Sr., Newark, N.Y.) - Was a triple-winner in
the 177-108 win over Saint Rose, capturing the 100 backstroke
(1:04.22), 200 back (2:17.27) and 500 freestyle (5:27.00). Also
helped Bentley finish second in the 200 free relay (1:48.03).
Liza Connolly, Bentley (Sr., Washington, Conn.) - In a 177-108 win
over Saint Rose, registered wins in the 50 freestyle (25.85), the
100 free (56.96) and the 200 free (2:02.69), and anchored the
Falcons' winning 200 medley relay team (1:57.42).
Ned Krawiecki, Bentley (Sr., Bristol, Conn.) - In a 152-141 win
over Saint Rose, captured both breaststroke events, with times of
1:02.69 in the 100 and 2:18.34 in the 200. Also was a member of the
winning 200 medley relay team (1:43.18), and finished fifth in the
100 butterfly (59.09).
Tom Ferrigno, Bryant (Jr., West Chester, Pa.) - Led the Bulldogs to
a 161.5-118.5 win over Bridgewater State with first-place finishes
in the 200-yard freestyle (1:49.95), the 100-yard breaststroke
(1:04.44) and the 200-yard IM (2:03.73). Also swam the first leg of
the winning 200-yard medley relay.
Jess Looney, Bryant (So., Goffstown, N.H.) - Took first-place
finishes in a trio of events in the 153-96 win over Bridgewater
State, including wins in the 100-yard backstroke (1:04.98), the
500-yard freestyle (5:21.88) and the 200-yard IM (2:15.70). Also
led off the meet with the first leg of the winning 200-yard medley
relay.
Jill Squillante, Bryant (Fr., Sayville, N.Y.) – In a 153-96
win over Bridgewater State, had wins in the 50-yard backstroke
(29.19), the 50-yard freestyle (26.68) and the 100-yard freestyle
(56.88).
Alison Lesher, Le Moyne (Sr., Sherrill, N.Y.) - Captured first
place in the 500 and 1000 yard freestyle in a 126-92 victory over
Alfred University.
Erin Johanson, Pace (So., Wakefield, Mass.) - In a dual meet with
Vassar, won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:07.68 and took
third in the 200-yard backstroke posting a time of 2:22.28, earning
12 points in the two events.
Callie Grace, Pace (Fr., Dalton, Mass.) - Earned 18 points in a
dual meet with Vassar, winning the 200-yard IM with a time of
2:23.60 and the 200-yard breaststroke with a time 2:40.58.
Craig McClintock, Pace (Jr., Valhalla, N.Y.) - Earned 21 points in
a dual meet with Vassar. Took first place in the 1000-yard
freestyle (11:07.12) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:13.21), while
taking third place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:22.08.
Mike Kaas, Saint Michael's (Sr., West Haven, Conn.) - Took home
second-place in the 500- and 1,000-yard Freestyle events in a dual
meet with The College of Saint Rose. Finished with a time of
5:16.90 in the 500 and 10:46.07 in the 1,000.
Gene Taylor, Saint Michael's (Fr., Marmora, N.J.) - Captured
second-place in both the 100- and 200-yard Freestyle events with
times of 51.07 and 1:55.26, respectively, in a dual meet with Saint
Rose.
Cody Hall, Southern Connecticut (So., Parker, Colo.) - Won the
200-yard freestyle (2:10.67) and the 200-yard individual medley
(2:12.17) and took second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:00.8)
against Marist.
Denny Shupe, Southern Connecticut (Sr., Berwyn, Pa.) - Won a pair
of events against Marist, which included the 500-yard freestyle
(4:44.65) and the 1000-yard freestyle (9:44.09).
