The Southern Connecticut State University men's and women's track and field teams won Northeast-10 Conference outdoor championships, which took place at The University of Massachusetts Lowell this weekend.

On the men's side, it's, remarkably, their 18th straight championship, while it's the third straight for the So. Connecticut women's squad.

Diwani Augustine of the Owls' men's team was named most valuable male athlete of the meet while the University of New Haven's Shannon Gagne was named the most valuable female athlete of the meet.

Augustine helped lead So. Connecticut's men's team to the title by finishing first in the triple jump, third in the long jump, and fifth in the 100 meter dash.  He was also a member of the winning team in the 4 x 100 meter relay event, as well.

Gagne, who was also named most valuable athlete of the indoor championship meet, added to her already impressive resume by taking four individual gold medals, and adding one more as a member of the 4 x 100 meter relay team.  Gagne set championship meet records in the 100 meter (11.82) and the 200 meter (23.87).  She also won the 400 meter dash and the long jump as well.
