South Easton, Mass. – Capital One Academic All-District selections for both men's and women'strack and field and cross country have been announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America. A total of 20 track and field student-athletes were selected in the women's College Division, District 1; 10 to the first team and 10 to the second team.
There were also 10 student-athletes selected in the men's College Division, District 1; all 10 were named to first team.
Of the 30 student-athletes selected in District 1, eight of them were from the Northeast-10, representing five different institutions. Four of those Northeast-10 student-athletes received the honor of first team and four received second team honors.

The 2010-2011 Capital One Academic All-District teams recognize top track and field/cross country student-athletes across the nation for the performance in athletics, as well as in the classroom. The College Division teams include NCAA Division II and III, NAIA, Canadian, and two-year schools. The University Division includes NCAA Division I teams.
All Academic All-District first team selections will advance to the Academic All-America Team ballot. The honorees for the first, second, and third team All-America will be selected later this month.
The Northeast-10 is an association of 16 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that are committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,500 student-athletes. Each year, 4,500 of those student-athletes compete in Conference championships in 23 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country. Leading the way in the classroom, on the field and within the community, the Northeast-10 is proud of its comprehensive program and the experience it provides studentathletes.
