Embrace the Community: Stonehill's Pat Boen Volunteers at First Annual Boston Frogman Swim Series

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Event Raises Money for Navy SEAL Foundation.

EASTON, Mass. – The Stonehill College baseball head coach Pat Boen '89 and his wife, Sheley '90, volunteered at the First Annual Boston Frogman Swim Series in support of former baseball player and Navy SEAL Blake Marston '07 on Sunday, June 2.

The Frogman Swim Series traces its roots to swims across Tampa Bay in the late 1990's. Currently it is a national series of events, currently in Tampa, Boston, and San Francisco where they have raised millions of dollars for the Navy SEAL Foundation. The Navy SEAL Foundation provides immediate ongoing support and assistance to Naval Special Warfare community and its families. The Foundation was established in 2000 and it is headquartered in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Marston tragically passed in January 2015 during a military training accident. The 2007 graduate served in the Navy for six years and completed his SEAL training in 2009. Marston received his degree in criminology and was a three-year letterwinner for the Skyhawks from New Hampshire.

The first annual Boston Frogman Swim Series featured over 30 swimmers, raising money for the Navy SEAL Foundation. The event consisted of a 5k swim starting and ending at Piers Park Sailing Center in East Boston. 100-percent of the proceeds benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation, honoring our warriors and supporting their families.
