Franklin Pierce Leads Charge with Eight First-Teamers

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Franklin Pierce's Jay Jabs has been named Northeast-10 Player of the Year and was one of eight first-team selections for the Ravens, as the conference office announced NE-10 Baseball All-Conference Teams on Tuesday.

Jabs, who was voted as the conference's top player by the league's coaches, hit .343 overall during the regular season in all 44 games for the Ravens. The sophomore third baseman currently leads the league in home runs (12), triples (5), total bases (117) and slugging percentage (.692). He is also second in the NE-10 in runs batted in with 46, while driving in 27 runs in conference games, the most in the league.

Fellow Raven Brendan O'Rourke was selected as the NE-10 Pitcher of the Year after a strong season on the mound. O'Rourke sits at No. 3 in the country with a 0.56 overall ERA thus far in 2015. The senior right-hander leads the league in wins with a 10-0 record (6-0 NE-10) and strikeouts with 82 in 11 starts.

Franklin Pierce Head Coach Jayson King was voted the Northeast-10 Coach of the Year by his peers. King's squad is currently ranked in the top-3 in the country with a 42-2 overall record, including 24-1 in conference and 20-1 in the Northeast Division.

Le Moyne's Brian Cox and American International's C.J. Boykin shared the NE-10 Rookie Player of the Year accolade. In conference games, Cox leads the league in on-base percentage (.533) and is second with a .435 batting average. Boykin hit .327 with nine steals in Northeast-10 contests.

Stonehill's Michael Young was voted as the NE-10 Rookie Pitcher of the Year. Young's 0.56 ERA in conference games is good for second best in the league. He has a 3-2 overall record with a save and averages 9.95 strikeouts per game.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,500 student-athletes.
