South Easton, Mass. – The Le Moyne College men’s golf
team was selected to claim this year’s Northeast-10
Men’s Golf Championship in a vote by the conference’s
12 head coaches prior to the start of the season.
The two-day championship, which begins on Sunday, Oct. 4, will be
held at the Crumpin-Fox Golf Club in Bernardston, Mass. The
championship will conclude on Monday, Oct. 5 with a shotgun start
beginning at 9 a.m. followed by the awards ceremony.
The Dolphins received four first place votes and a total of 134
points to edge out the University of Massachusetts Lowell who
received two-first place votes and 112 points. American
International College finished third with 104 points and one first
place vote followed by Southern New Hampshire University who picked
up one-first place vote and 98 points. The Penmen finished slightly
ahead of Adelphi University by one vote. However, the Panthers
picked up four-first place votes and round out the top five with 97
points.
Le Moyne took home the championship trophy last year for the first
time in program history as the Dolphins shot an impressive 293 on
day one. They followed that up on day two with a score of 306 to
finish with a total score of 599 and a winning margin of 12 as
UMass Lowell followed with a two-day score of 611. Saint Anselm
College finished third with a score of 612.
Last year’s medalist honors went to Le Moyne’s
Kevin Jackson (Chittenango, N.Y.) who
finished the two-day championship with a score of 144 (69-75), just
edging out American International’s Garrett Beyor
(Monson, Mass.) who finished with a total score of
145 (70-75). UMass Lowell’s Brendan Livingston
(Westford, Mass.) and the College of Saint
Rose’s Matt Horton (Troy, N.Y.)
finished third and fourth respectively with scores of 146 and
147.

distinction of being the largest Division II conference in the
country along with the PSAC and WVIAC. Its 23 championship sports
