MANSFIELD, Mass. - A pair of Adelphi student-athletes and one men's basketball player representing Saint Rose have been recognized on the Academic All-America NCAA Division II Men's and Women's basketball teams by the College Sports and Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

All honorees must have at least a 3.30 overall (4.00 scale) grade-point-average and be of sophomore standing.

Adelphi's Michael Coffey, pictured above, was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team for his efforts in the classroom and on the court. He topped the Panthers with 21.6 points per game this past season. He is currently pursuing an accounting degree and posts a 3.82 GPA. During the season season, he set a new single-game school record for three-pointers made with nine in the NE10 first round victory over Bentley.

Adelphi's Sierra Clark, a two-time NE10 All-Conference first team pick, earned inclusion on the Academic All-America Third Team. She led the team and was second in the conference with 19.5 points and 10.1 rebounds per game this season.

Pursuing a degree in communications, the senior currently posts a 3.61 GPA. She is tied for first in NCAA Division II with 19 double-doubles this year, and helped lead her team to their second NE10 title recently as she was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2017 NE10 Championship Tournament.

Saint Rose senior forward Tyler Sayre was named a second team selection in 2016-17. A third-team Academic All-America honoree last season who has a GPA that hovers above 3.80, is one of five repeat winners that were honored.

A finance major, Sayre is a two-time NE10 All-League and Academic All-Conference honoree. He has been awarded the Saint Rose School of Business Outstanding Senior Award. He is the fifth all-time leading scorer in Golden Knights program history and helped lead his team to an NCAA berth.
