Adelphi, SNHU Share Top Spot in NE10 Men's Tennis Coaches' Poll

Men's Tennis Coaches' Poll 2023

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SNHU is the Reigning NE10 Champion.

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Adelphi and Southern New Hampshire share the top spot in the Northeast-10 Conference Men's Tennis Coaches' Poll, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. Both programs earned 23 points and three first-place votes among the six NE10 head coaches to enter the 2023-24 season as league favorites.

Traditionally released in the spring, the NE10 Men's Tennis Coaches' Poll was announced prior to the fall season due to a change in conference scheduling with the departure of Le Moyne College. There will now be a select number of conference matches played this fall, with the rest scheduled for the spring season. The NE10 Men's Tennis Championship will still occur in the spring on Saturday, May 4.

SNHU, the reigning NE10 champion, and Adelphi both earned a share of the conference regular season championship in 2022-23. It was the Penmen who advanced to the NE10 Men's Tennis Championship final and defeated Le Moyne, 4-2, to win their first league title in four years and deny the Dolphins their third-straight championship.

Both Adelphi and SNHU went 5-1 in conference matches last spring, with the programs earning the No. 2 and 3 seeds, respectively, in the NE10 Championship. SNHU won a semifinal match against Adelphi, 4-1, to advance to the championship match at Le Moyne.

Saint Michael's is ranked third in the Coaches' Poll (13 points), followed by Bentley (12 points), Franklin Pierce (10 points) and Assumption (9 points). The top four teams in the standings at the conclusion of regular season play will participate in the NE10 Championship.
