Goffstown, N.H. - Merrimack holds a 14-stroke lead over Franklin Pierce following Day One of the 2015 Northeast-10 Conference Women's Golf Championship. The Warriors posted a team score of 335 during Friday's action, and lead Franklin Pierce, which posted a team score of 349.
Le Moyne posted a team score of 363 Friday, while Southern New Hampshire - the host institution for the first-ever NE-10 Women's Golf Championship - shot a combined 396.
Jessica Wagner, pictured, shot a 76 during the opening day of the two-day event to lead the Warriors. Her score was six strokes better than any other student-athlete during the day one action. Wagner's teammate Alessandra Ricigliano shot an 83, while Jaclyn Drew posted an 86 to lead Merrimack.
The Ravens were led by Taylor Schmidt, who shot an opening day round of 82 which was second-best on the afternoon.
The inaugural NE-10 Women's Golf Championship will run continue Satuirday. The tournament is taking place at Stonebridge Country Club, which has been rated one of the top public courses in New England by the New England Golf Guide. The ladies' course totals 4,747 yards, and has a rating of 67.5 and a slope of 116.
