Merrimack Wins First-Ever Northeast-10 Conference Women's Golf Championship

Goffstown, N.H. - Merrimack used a second day score of 328 as a team to finish the two-day event with a score of 663 en route to claiming the 2015 NE-10 Championship. The Warriors finished 31 strokes ahead of Franklin Pierce who finished second.  

Le Moyne finished third with a score of 732, and Southern New Hampshire finished fourth carding a 780.

Merrimack's Jessica Wagner, pictured at left, earned medalist honors as she shot a 154 over the two days of the event. Wagner finished ahead of teammate Jaclyn Drew who carded a 164 during the NE-10 Championship. Wagner was the only student-athlete to post two sub-80 rounds during the championship.

The Warriors led by 14 strokes following the first day of the event and extended upon that lead to claim the crown in the conference championship, which was held for the first time in the history of the NE-10.

The Northeast-10 Conference announced women's golf as the 24th league-sponsored sport in August of 2014.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,500 student-athletes.
