Defending Champion Adelphi Earns Top Seed in Northeast-10 Volleyball Championship

NE-10 Quarterfinals Begin Tuesday

CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

MANSFIELD, Mass. – After going a perfect 14-0 in conference play, the Northeast-10 Regular Season Champion Adelphi Panthers have collected the top seed in the 2015 NE-10 Volleyball Championship, which begins with quarterfinal contests on Tuesday.

Adelphi (23-4) enters the NE-10 Championship riding an 18-game winning streak, as the Panthers have not suffered a loss since Sept. 16. The defending NE-10 Champion Panthers will host a match against No. 8 seed Southern New Hampshire (12-14, 7-7 NE-10) in Tuesday’s quarterfinals.

Franklin Pierce (18-9, 12-2 NE-10) garnered the No. 2 seed and will host seventh-seeded New Haven (16-14, 7-7) on Tuesday. Bentley (18-9, 11-3) claimed the No. 3 seed and will play host to No. 6 seed American International (13-12, 7-7). The final quarterfinal matchup will feature fourth-seeded Le Moyne (19-7, 10-4) and fifth-seeded Saint Rose (12-11, 8-6).

The highest seed to advance past the quarterfinal round will host both the semifinals and championship as part of the “Final Four”. The semifinals will take place on Friday, Nov. 20, and the NE-10 Championship Match is set for Saturday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m.

*American Int’l, New Haven and So. New Hampshire all lost to Adelphi. AIC earned the 6th seed based on a win over Franklin Pierce (both SNHU and UNH lost to FPU). New Haven earned the 7th seed, based on a head-to-head win over So. New Hampshire.

Match 1: #8 So. New Hampshire at #1 Adelphi (7:00 p.m.)
Match 2: #7 New Haven at #2 Franklin Pierce (7:00 p.m.)
Match 3: #6 American Int’l at #3 Bentley (7:00 p.m.)
Match 4: #5 Saint Rose at #4 Le Moyne (7:00 p.m.) 

Friday, November 20th
Semifinals - at highest remaining seed following the quarterfinal matches
Match 5: Match 1 winner vs. Match 4 winner ­ (5:00 pm or 7:30 pm)
Match 6: Match 2 winner vs. Match 3 ­ winner (5:00 pm or 7:30 pm) 

Saturday, November 21st
