NE10 Player of the Week
Cory Bright, Bentley
Graduate Student | Infielder | Melrose, Mass.
Bright accounted for 12 of Bentley's 53 runs during a perfect 4-0 weekend in Myrtle Beach, going 6-for-14 at the plate (.429) with two home runs, five RBI, four walks and seven runs scored. Bright homered twice in an 11-5 win over Bridgeport. For the week, he recorded an on-base percentage of .600 and a slugging percentage of .857.

Zach Brassill, Southern New Hampshire

In his second career start, Brassill fired a five-hit complete game, allowing just one unearned run, while striking out nine and walking four, as SNHU closed its Myrtle Beach trip with a 5-1 win over 15th-ranked Molloy on Sunday.

Carlos Acosta, Adelphi (Sr., P - Tenafly, N.J.)
Inherited a bases-loaded jam when he came out of the bullpen vs. Bridgeport, with his team trailing 4-2 and struck out his first batter on four pitches, and induced a subsequent flyout to hold Bridgeport to a two-run advantage. He went on to retire his first 10 batters and 11 of 12, striking out a career-best 10 batters along the way in 5.2 innings -- making the way for the Panthers rallying for a 9-6 come-from-behind victory.
Jack Wishner, Adelphi (Jr., IF - Valley Cottage, N.Y.)
Wishner slugged a .375 average in the team's opening week. He went 6-for-16 and led the team with five runs scored and six RBIs. He twice tied a single-game career-high with three RBI. Wishner tallied at least one hit in each of the team's four games, as the Panthers opened up 2-2 to begin the 2024 campaign.
Cole Maucere, New Haven (Jr., OF - West Babylon, N.Y.)
Maucere opened up the season hitting .438 over four games in Myrtle Beach this past weekend. He also led the team with five RBI, putting up at least one in all four games. Overall for the week, he finished 7-of-16 at the plate with three runs scored and hit a pair of home runs, one against Wilmington and one against Post.
Nolan Elmore, Saint Anselm (Sr., C - Brentwood, N.H.)
The senior catcher blasted his first home run of the season, the ninth in his career, on Saturday during a doubleheader sweep against Saint Michael's. He went 3-for-4 at the plate in game one along with 5 RBI and a walk for a 1.750 slugging percentage.
Will Hunter, Saint Anselm (Sr., P - Middleton, Mass.)
In game two of the doubleheader against Saint Michael's, Hunter came on in relief and pitched four no-hit innings where he did not concede any walks or runs. The senior struck out five batters and picked up his first win of the season for the Hawks to help Saint Anselm sweep the Purple Knights.
Keegan Burke, Saint Michael's (So., RHP - Amherst, N.H.)
Burke fanned 10 batters over five innings, yielding just one unearned run on two hits, during a no-decision on Sunday against Saint Anselm.
Chad Fedeli, Southern Conn. St. (Jr., IF/RHP - Monroe, Conn.)
Fedeli led the Owls to a 3-1 weekend in wins against Staten Island and a doubleheader sweep of Felician. Fedeli hit .353 with a .450 on-base percentage and a .882 slugging percentage after going 6-for-17 with two doubles, two triples, a home runs and seven RBI. In the Owls' 14-4 win against Felician, Fedeli was 3-for-5 with two triples and a home run while driving in five runs and scoring two more. Against STAC, Fedeli was 2-for-5 with two doubles and also pitched the last three innings in relief, allowing one run on three hits while striking out four.
Braeden Sparaco, Southern Conn. St. (Fr., RHP/IF - Ivoryton, Conn.)
Sparaco made two relief appearances this weekend in a doubleheader sweep of Felician. In the Owls' 14-4 win in Game 1, Sparaco tossed three innings of scoreless ball, giving up one hit and allowing one baserunner to pick up the save. In Game 2, Sparaco once again came on in relief, pitching 2 2/3 scoreless, while giving up one hit to pick up the win. He posted a 0.00 ERA and a 0.35 WHIP while striking out four over 5 2/3.
Harry Vargas Segura, Southern N.H. (Jr., OF - Bronx, N.Y.)
Vargas Segura went 6-for-17 (.353) with two home runs, five RBI and seven runs scored during a 3-2 week for SNHU. Vargas Segura, who went 4-for-5 on stole base attempts, drew five walks and slashed .500/.706/1.206. He hit a two-run homer in the opening game of the Myrtle Beach trip, as the Penmen rolled over Felician, 10-3, Thursday, and hit another two-run bomb, as he drove in three and scored three runs in a 20-6 triumph against Staten Island in game one of Saturday's doubleheader.
