Adelphi's Burton and Kelly Will Compete at The 2012 PGA Collegiate Minority Championship

Garden City, N.Y. - For the first time in program history Adelphi University will send athletes to compete in the PGA Collegiate Minority Championship. The 26th PGA Collegiate Minority Championship will be held in Port St. Lucie, Florida at the PGA Golf Club on three world class golf courses from May 11 thru the 13th and Aaron Burton and Louis Kelly, pictured, will represent Adelphi University.

Burton and Kelly will join players from Division I, II and the NAIA for stroke play competition over three days on the Ryder and Wanamaker courses. Burton and Kelly will open play on May 11 on the Wanamaker Course, which plays at 6.830 yard and carries a par score of 72. They will continue play on day two on the Ryder course, which is slightly longer at 6.875 but has the same par score of 72 as the Wanamaker, before finishing up play back on the Wanamaker.

Burton and Kelly will not only be representing Adelphi at the PGA Minority Championship, but also the Northeast-10, as they are the only competitors entered in the event from the conference and the NCAA Division II East Region. Both players are coming off play at the NCAA Division II East/Atlantic Regional, where both players finished in a tie for 40th.
