American International Golf Ranks First in Coaches’ Poll

South Easton, Mass. – American International College received four first-place votes and received 106 points overall to take the top spot in this year’s Northeast-10 Conference Golf Preseason Poll, as voted by the league’s coaches.

The Yellow Jackets made their first-ever trip to the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament a season ago.

Adelphi University finished with 99 points and received three first-place votes to narrowly take the second spot over Le Moyne College, which totaled 98 points and claimed one first-place tally. Bentley University garnered three first-place votes and 92 points to take the fourth position in the poll.

The University of Massachusetts Lowell finished fifth with 75 points and the College of Saint Rose totaled 66 points. Saint Anselm College finished with 58 points, just ahead of Assumption College (56 points) and Pace University (55).

Assumption also tallied one first-place vote.

Rounding out the voting was Franklin Pierce University with 37 points, Southern New Hampshire University with 34 points and Saint Michael’s College with 16 points.

The season will get underway on September 7th with the Assumption College Shootout and the NE-10 Championships will be held October 2-3 at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in Boylston, Mass.
