Skyhawks, Panthers Ranked Top 15 in D2SIDA Women's Basketball Poll.
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Preseason rankings have been released and Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball teams are making their presence known - not only in the East Region, but on a national scale.
Stonehill and Adelphi – NE10 regular season champions from a year ago – are ranked No. 10 and 14, respectively, in the Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) Women's Basketball Preseason National Poll. The Skyhawks were NE10 champions in 2019-20. Additionally, Saint Anselm, the 2019-20 NE10 runner-up, is receiving votes in the D2SIDA poll.
The NE10 also has six women's programs in the D2SIDA East Region Preseason Poll – easily the most of any conference in the region. Stonehill received four first-place votes and finished in the top spot, while Adelphi tallied a pair of first-place votes and ranks second.
Saint Anselm is No. 3 in the East Region, while Bentley comes in at No. 6, Le Moyne at No. 7 and New Haven at No. 8. Pace and Southern Connecticut are receiving votes.
Full national preseason rankings and regional preseason rankings are available. Prior to the COVID-19 shutdown in March, the NE10 had four women's basketball teams qualify for the NCAA East Regional.
