Three-Time Defending NE10 Champion Adelphi Picked to Win Women's Lacrosse Title

Panthers Top NE10 Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Poll 

MANSFIELD, Mass. – National runner-up Adelphi has been picked to four-peat as Northeast-10 Champions by the league's head coaches, as the conference announced the 2017 Coaches' Poll this morning.

The Panthers claimed 168 total points along with 12 first-place votes from the league's head coaches. Adelphi went 21-1 (13-0 NE10) last year en route to the NE10 Championship and National Championship final, where they suffered their only loss.

Adelphi has won the conference title six times in the last seven seasons and will be looking to four-peat for the first time in program history this coming spring.

Le Moyne took the second spot in the poll with 158 points and the other two first-place votes. New Haven was picked to finish third with 137 points, followed by Bentley with 136 and Stonehill with 111. 

Adelphi is the No. 2 team in the country according to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Preseason Poll. Le Moyne was ranked third, while New Haven checked in at No. 11. Also appearing in the national poll were Bentley (#12), Stonehill (#18) and Pace (#20).

The 2017 Northeast-10 Championship is slated to begin with Quarterfinal Round action on Wednesday, May 3. The Semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, May 6 with the finals to follow on Sunday, May 7.
