NE10 Women's Lacrosse Teams of the Week: Adelphi, Stonehill

Adelphi, Stonehill

Each week for the remainder of the spring we will honor the seniors from two NE10 women's lacrosse programs as our teams of the week for each player's dedication to their program and teammates.

ADELPHI

Coach Pat McCabe on his senior class - "Our 2020 senior class players are true champions.  Their accomplishments on the field are easy to see, but they are so much more than wins, losses or individual statistics.  This is a tremendous group of people who have demonstrated leadership, integrity and accountability throughout their time at Adelphi.  They have always risen to the occasion, whether it be on the field, in the classroom or in the community and will hold a special place among the great classes in the history of our program.  Me, my family and our staff will forever be grateful for the contributions the 2020 class has made to the success, culture and character of Adelphi women's lacrosse.  These have been amazing years, but for them, the best is yet to come."

Season Recap
Adelphi, the reigning Division II national champion, was off to a 3-1 start this spring in its quest to defend its title prior to the spring season shutdown. The Panthers, who finished the shortened season ranked No. 4 in the IWLCA Poll, managed a 13-12 victory over No. 7 Rollins on Feb. 23 for its highlight win in February. Adelphi was also 1-0 in NE10 play, besting Stonehill in its final game of 2020 by a 10-5 margin on Feb. 29. Kole Pollock, reigning IWLCA Division II Player of the Year, had a team-high 10 goals and was tied for a team-best 12 points in four games. Alison Johnson was close behind with 11 points on three goals and eight assists.

STONEHILL

Coach Katie Conover on her senior class – "Our five seniors lead when no one is looking. They work hard, fight through adversity and put the team first when it mattered most. They worked diligently to prove themselves this year and their leadership will leave a positive impact on the field and in the locker room for years to come."
