NE10 Player of the Week
Abby Lineman, SNHU
Sophomore | Infielder | Doylestown, Penn.
Lineman had a huge week in Florida. Highlighted by a 2 HR, 9 RBI game against Minnesota-Crookston last Wednesday. For the week, Lineman hit .519 (14-for-27) with two doubles, three homers and 13 RBI. She leads the NE10 with her four homers and 15 RBI.
NE10 Pitcher of the Week
Gisselle Garcia, Pace
Junior | Pitcher | Lemon Grove, Calif.
Garcia tossed a perfect game in the Setters season opener against Virginia Union while striking out 13 batters in an 11-0 run rule victory.
NE10 Rookie of the Week
Kelsey Higgins, Saint Rose
Freshman l Outfielder l Clifton Park, N.Y.
Higgins tallied four home runs and eight RBI while slashing .391/.417/.913 for the Golden Knights in their season-opening week at The Spring Games in Florida. With eight games played, Higgins is tied atop the NE10 in long balls and also stands tied for third in runs driven in.
NE10 Weekly Honor Roll
Riley Piromalli, Bentley (Gr., P - Huntington, N.Y.)
Piromalli earned not one but two wins Sunday... She tossed a complete game shutout in a win over Caldwell. She came out of the bullpen for two innings to get the W against Slippery Rock
Bella Williams, Franklin Pierce (Jr., OF - Phoenix, Ariz.)
Williams was a force on the field for the Ravens in their first week back. Competing in ten games in seven days across two states, Williams tallied 11 hits and five RBIs for the Ravens. Boasting a .344 batting average, Williams' time at the plate was highlighted in game two against Post, when she went 2-2 on the day. Defensively, through ten games Williams had 17 total chances and 15 put outs, which explains her impressive .941 fpct.
Kennedy Morris, Franklin Pierce (Fr., P - Stattford, Conn.)
Morris kicked off her college career this week and did it in impressive fashion. Playing nine innings through four games, she limited batters to just 7 hits and zero runs which helped her finish with a 0.00 era.
Sabrina Gonzalez, Franklin Pierce (Sr., P - Chandler, Ariz.)
Gonzalez had a solid first week back on the mound for the Ravens. Playing both at Post and then in Florida, she generated 7 strike outs, a 0.00 ERA and a .94 whip.
Angelica Johns, Saint Michael's (Sr., INF - Westbrook, Maine)
Johns slashed .522/.652/.560 during her team's first six games last week. The middle infielder batted 12-for-23 with five runs, two RBI, a double, a triple, a walk, a hit-by-pitch and a stolen base while picking up a hit in every contest. She had five multi-hit outings while helping Saint Michael's split the six contests.
Paris Richards, Saint Michael's (Fr. P - Oregon City, Ore.)
Richards turned in a 1.24 ERA and a 1-1 record in three games last week, allowing six runs - only two earned - on nine hits in 11.1 innings. She fanned four and walked three while yielding a .205 opposing batting average. Richards worked 5.2 innings of relief without allowing an earned run in her debut against Indiana (Pa.) on Saturday, logged a perfect frame of relief later in the day against Notre Dame (Ohio), and picked up the win by allowing two runs in 4.2 innings of relief versus Minnesota Crookston on Sunday.
Charlotte Donovan, SNHU (Fr., P/OF - Biddeford, Maine)
Donovan played in five games for the Penmen in Florida last week. She went 4-for-8 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Donovan also worked a combined 2.2 scoreless innings in relief for the Penmen.
Leine McKechnie, SNHU (Sr., P - Passadumkeag, Maine)
McKechnie compiled a 3-1 record with a 1.44 ERA in four starts last week. She allowed five earned runs and tossed two complete games with 15K's.
