Defending Champion, Saint Rose, Has Seven Named All-Conference,
Including Three on First Team

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Following the first Northeast-10 Conference regular season title in program history, Assumption College added to their already impressive 2014 women's soccer campaign by taking home three of the conference's major awards as the league recognized it's end of the season honorees.

For the full list of student-athletes that were recognized as Northeast-10 All-Conference or All-Rookie honorees, please see below.

Junior Paige Radomski was selected as the conference's Player of the Year, her teammate, Amanda Arnold was selected as the NE-10 Rookie of the Year, and head coach Kevin Meek was selected by his peers as the league's Coach of the Year.

The other student-athletes tabbed for major awards from the league were: Adelphi University's Sam Whitney, who was selected as the league's Goalkeeper of the Year for the second consecutive season, and Southern Connecticut State University's Sarah Brochu who earned Defensive Player of the Year laurels.

The Northeast-10 Player of the Year, Paige Radomski helped lead the Greyhounds' offense, as she scored 12 goals and added three assists helping lead Assumption to a 12-2 mark in NE-10 play. Her 12 goals were third-best, and her 27 points overall placed her fourth in the league. Radomski was also a unanimous First Team All-Conference selection.

Amanda Arnold, the conference's rookie of the year, made an immediate impact on the Assumption offense in her first year. She scored ten goals, which tied her for the fifth-most in the league, and she added five assists, which was tied for eighth in the conference. Overall, her 25 points was fifth, just one spot below Radomski. Arnold was also named a Second Team selection.

The coaches selected Adelphi's Sam Whitney as the league's goalkeeper of the year for the second consecutive season. Whitney helped lead the Panthers to the #3 seed in the NE-10 Championship, with a mark of 9-4-1 in NE-10 play. The senior had another sensational season between the pipes, having allowed only eight goals in 17 games in net.

Whitney is tied for first in save percentage (.852), 2nd in the conference in goals-against-average (0.48), and her seven shutouts also tie her for second-most in the league. For the second consecutive season, Whitney was also named an All-Conference First Team member.

So. The NE-10 head coaches tabbed Connecticut's Sarah Brochu as the Defensive Player of the Year. Brochu helped lead the Owls to a 9-4-1 record in league play, as they earned the 4th-seed in the 2014 NE-10 Championship. So. Connecticut's defense has allowed less then a goal per outing so far this season, and the senior's play is a big reason why. Brochu was also named to the Northeast-10 Conference's First Team.

Assumption's Kevin Meek was selected as the league's Coach of the Year. In just his second season in Worcester, Meek helped lead the Greyhounds to the first regular season title in program history, as they compiled a mark of 13-3-1 overall, and 12-2 in the NE-10. The 12 conference wins was seven more then last year's team, which finished at 5-4-5 in league play. Meek also had four of his student-athletes named All-Conference, including Radomski and Arnold.
