August 12, 2015

MANSFIELD, Mass. - The Northeast-10 Conference football game between American International and Assumption will be broadcast live on ESPN3, it was announced by the league office in conjunction with the NCAA today.

The game will take place in Springfield, Mass. at Ronald J. Abdow field on the campus of American International on Saturday, October 24. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.

The game between the Yellow Jackets and Greyhounds is part of the 2015 NCAA Division II football package on ESPN3, as each week a game will be broadcast live throughout the season.

"I am very pleased that we will have the opportunity to showcase our football program on the national stage on ESPN3," said Nick Smith, director of athletics and recreation at Assumption.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for our student-athletes and coaches to showcase our program while also providing the chance for our alumni, fans and others nationwide to see what Assumption football is all about. We want our alumni and other fans of Assumption to be proud of this program and I think they will see a product on the field on October 24th that they can take great pride in. In addition, I would like to thank NCAA Division II for selecting Assumption for this game and for showcasing Northeast-10 Conference football."

A year ago, American Int'l fell in the NE-10 title game to LIU Post, 58-25. The Yellow Jackets finished 8-3 in 2014, including 8-1 in conference play.  American Int'l averaged 32 points per game last year.
