Saint Michael's Receives Top Seed for Northeast-10 Ice Hockey Championship

Saint Michael’s to Host Assumption; Stonehill will Welcome Saint Anselm on Saturday

MANSFIELD, Mass. – The seedings for the Northeast-10 Ice Hockey Championship were announced by the conference on Tuesday with Saint Michael’s receiving the top seed, getting the nod over Stonehill.

Saint Michael’s (8-15-2, 3-0-2 NE-10) and Stonehill (13-5-4, 7-0-2) shared the regular season conference title with a total of eight points apiece. Saint Anselm (9-13-3, 2-1-2) wound up the third seed, while Assumption (8-14, 4-6) claimed the fourth spot by topping Franklin Pierce on Monday.

Stonehill will host Saint Anselm on Saturday with the puck set to drop at 1:50 p.m. Assumption will visit top-seeded Saint Michael’s on Saturday as well at 7 p.m.

The two winners will play on Saturday, Feb. 28 for the NE-10 title. The highest remaining seed will host the championship game.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,500 student-athletes.

Each year, 4,500 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 24 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship.
