NE-10 Announces All-Conference Selections; Tasiopoulos Collects Second Straight Goaltender of the Year Award
 

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Saint Michael's senior forward AJ Pieprzak has been named the 2015 Northeast-10 Ice Hockey Player of the Year, it was announced by the league office on Friday morning.

Pieprzak helped guide the Purple Knights to the top seed in the 2015 Northeast-10 Championship by racking up 31 points on 11 goals, nine of which came in conference play, to go along with 20 assists.

Stonehill had three first-team selections in senior goaltender Chris Tasiopoulos, junior forward Robbie Dorgan and senior defenseman Brendan Greene. Saint Anselm junior defenseman Tyler Estee and Southern New Hampshire junior Forward Joe Collins also landed on the first team.

Tasiopoulos was named Northeast-10 Goaltender of the Year for the second consecutive season. The senior goalie boasts a league-best 13-3-3 record and leads the conference in goals against average (2.23) and save percentage (.928).

Stonehill defenseman Brendan White was selected as the NE-10 Rookie of the Year. White finished the regular season second among freshman defensemen in points with eight.

Estee was tabbed as the NE-10 Defender of the Year after tallying eight points on three goals and five assists during the regular season. Saint Anselm leads the league with an 85.9 penalty kill percentage.

Stonehill's David Borges was named the league's Coach of the Year after leading the Skyhawks to an 8-0-2 mark in the conference and the second seed in the Northeast-10 Championship.

Collins, Pieprzak, Dorgan and Tasiopoulos were all first-team selections for the second year in a row. Saint Michael's will host fourth-seeded Assumption, while Stonehill will welcome No. 3 seed Saint Anselm on Saturday.

The Northeast-10 Conference is an association of 15 NCAA Division II colleges and universities located in New England and New York that is committed to supporting balanced academic and athletic opportunities for more than 6,500 student-athletes.

Each year, 4,500 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 24 sports, making the NE-10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship. Leading the way in the classroom, on the field and within the community, the Northeast-10 is proud of its comprehensive program and the experience it provides student-athletes.
